Pee Ell Sea Posts: 672 Rating: (57)	Hi, The input hardware is much faster than the plc program. Your ability to recognise one input change and change an ouput is the filter time of the input card plus up to twice the scan time of the plc program. Twice the scan time because the input image is only updated at the start of each scan so if a scan has just started when the input changes it will not be recognised until the start of the next scan. Any output will not change until the end of the scan when the ouput image is sent to the cards. You can improve on the limitations above by using interrupt inputs or time controlled processing and readingthe inputs directly from the cards.
