Hello R&H CO.; For which family of PLCs are you requesting help? The principle of reading and scaling analog values is similar for all Siemens PLCs, but the tools are different for the S7-200, S7-1200 and S7-300/400. For the S7-300 family, you should look at the Analog Representation chapters of the S7-300 Module Data manual (there is a link to the manual in the seconf FAQ below) to understand how analog values are connected tio the field and digitized in the PLC. You should then concentrate on scaling the raw amnalog value so that you can interpret this signal as an engineering value (%, gpm, RPM, etc...). See the FAQs below: How and for which analog measurements can you use the function FC105 "SCALE" to convert the integer values (INT) into real number values? How can you standardize and destandardize analog values with STEP 7? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
