155H and 948R Memory cards

zzAido1 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Back to my previous question - thanks J_Bell for the info.... This is a good variant - I have a redundant 155H system with 948 processors. I have only one Eeprom card with the programme loaded and I wish to do the following as a test.......system is live so I want to check it here first. If I knock out the redundant processor, plug in the eeprom card and place the redundant processor back in action again, will it load the programme from the memory card on a COLD RESTART? If yes then - if the programme is not correct, would the redundant processor move into an error mode and the master continue in solo mode??? I'm curious - it would help me learn more about the operating conditions of this monster...... zz

zzAido1 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Thanks Simatico. Maybe this is slightly easier before I head over to customer support. I am using a PG 4 device for mainly my S7 projects. I have never used it for S5 and my S5 experience is limited. The rack I am working on has one SIMATIC S5 EEPROM Memory card module - 6ES5 374 2KK21 - which holds the programme. I have plugged it into the designated S5 port - however my S5 software doesnt recognise the card or port (I think I am doing something wrong here). My concern is to backup a copy of the EEPROM as this is the only source of the existing programme. Do I need an S5 memory module adaptar in order to read this card - I understand from the documentation that I dont.....

If flash module is not recognized at all: Have you activated your internal prommer? Depending on your Step5-version it is to be done within Step5 (V7.x) or by Win start menu in Simatic. Progr no is allways 500 for flash modules. Good luck
