WinCC status for OSC work

manudomgar Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hello, I need to add a new OSC in a project, where the ES is the OS Server. There are other clients all over the plant, so my question is: As I have to open Wincc explorer of the new OSC in the ES to take the Server Data, I need to close it in the OS Server, so my question is: Will I loose the sreens of the other OSCs during this time? Thank you!!

Maraitorzzzzz Posts: 140 Rating: (7)	Hi, The screens in other OSC will be disappeared, Since you have only one server. I can suggest you to try this out to add new client without disturbing the OS server. Create an OS project in OSC PC Go to Properties of the project----> General tab----> Change Type to Client project. Assign server data manually. Check the server data path in working OSC and give the same. Note: The newely created client will not be available in ES project.

manudomgar Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	To add a new OSC I think I have to: - Add it in to the project in SIMATIC Manager with a propper IP address and a shared folder - Add the path of the shared folder to the Target in the properties of the new OSC - Compile OSC (and I don't know if it is needed to compile also the OSS, so I will unless someone tell me it is not neccesary). - Open OSC explorer to add the Server data package file (so here I must close the wincc explorer and runtime of the OSS) - Download OSC Is that correct? I think it is not, as you told me it is not neccesary to close the OSS... Thank you

Maraitorzzzzz Posts: 140 Rating: (7)	Hi, You can add the OS client by following way. Since Your OS server and ES are same, you need to deactivate your server. Once server is deactivated your all other clients will be disconnected. To add new client no need to do OS server compilation. You need torun OS Project Editor on new OS Client as per your screen selection. If you don't want to disturb the OS server as of now, temperorly you can try my previous solution. I am not sure it will work or not...But the client will work on the basis of Server data pack and on Terminal Bus.

Avinashkrishna Posts: 62 Rating: (4)	Dearmanudomgar, In ur Project if u close os server u will lose the communication to the OSC.but the best way is to create ES as a OSC.Make Saprate OS Server.So that it will not effect u r engineering ACT Also Client Server communication. minhajie Posts: 96 Rating: (10)	Hi Manudomgar, If you are using a new version of PCS7 then you can use a reference OS. What I would suggest is you add the OSC in your project, no need to compile the OSC compilation is only for server. Define the path and download. Now if you are using reference OSeverythingwill be configured but if you can not use reference OS then I would suggest you make the server package mode on the OSC after the project download. You can update the project later during shutdown Hope this was helpful .

I made it in two ways and both worked fine: 1 - Add OSC to my project, define path in it, download 2- Open Wincc, create new client project, add server package to it. The one that I left working was the first one, as it appears in the project in the ES. Thank you!!
