PIW 7 PQW creation from numbers

Dylan101 Posts: 29 Rating: (1)	Hey guys Been digging through the net to find out if it is possible to create a PIW or PQW from a number. Basically,I want to create an FB, but the FB will use PIW and PQW inside the block. So as an input i would like to have the start of the PIW's and PQW's, say 200 for each,how many words, say 10 and then inside then FB have the PIW's and PQW's start at 200 and end at 219. That way each time I use the FB the internal words can be changes by simply changing the word start and quantity. Is it possible to build up the words for use as a reference?

Dylan101 Posts: 29 Rating: (1)	Hey Miami Thanks for the assist, i thought I was asking the impossible. I am not a STL guy, though I can read it if I have to, and thought that that would be the only way possible. I modified it a bit to allow for automatic assignment of 10 words based on a single starting reference. Basically just added the required number to the starting Int and it works great. Just one question, what are the [.....] bracketsfor, I get what they do, but cannot find an explanation for them. Thanks for taking the time to help Have a super weekend.

I don't know, just syntax. I have itfrom a training (ST-7PRO2), I visited years ago. Later I used itin a application and it worked. And after I read your question, I just looked there, who I did it. Ok, I now searched a while and found out it's a "Pointer for Memory-Indirect Addressing" You can find it here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/45531107Chapter 27.3.4.3 The example in the manual uses "L P#x.y" to load the pointer into ACCU1 I made it with the first two lines instead. And in my way the the bit-address is x.0.
