TIA V12 Lisence Transfer problems

Mactenn Edd Regular Member Joined: 12/16/2011 Last visit: 10/4/2024 Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have recently installed TIA V12 on my desk top and lap top computers, the installation on mydesk top when smoothly. However, I am having trouble transferring the licence to my Lap top. When I either dag and drop the new licence key from the USB stick to the C: drive or use the transfer option in the menu, the transfer fails and I get the following message: A message sent on a datagram socket was larger than the internal message buffer or some other network limit, or the buffer used to receive a datagram into was smaller than the datagram itself. The Licence manager then no longer recognises the USB stickuntil I restart the computer. I have tried uninstallingTIA andthen reinstalling but I have the same issue. am I doing something wrong? I would be grateful for any advise. Many Thanks

I have since receiveda new licence Keyfrom Siemens, this also suffers the same issues. The licence key will transfer from the USB stick on to another PC with Windows 7 and back again, so it is not corrupt. but it will not transfer on to my lap top, I am beginning to suspect that it has something to do with windows8 as other Siemens software will not run onit either.Rockwell seems to operate OK but I bought the laptop specifically to run TIA Portal. I am now considering some sort of duel boot regime to runSiemens software in Windows 7. Thanks Again.!!

However, I have now conceded that my problems all stem from Windows 8. I am now in the process of having the Hard drive wiped and installing windows 7 PRO. I think the final word on this thread should be: DON’T BUY WINDOWS 8 . Thanks Again.
