dangerous Posts: 35 Rating: (1)	I am sorry to say that I am an Allen Bradley specialist with a Siemens project to do and I'm not finding the transition easy. I have an S7-318 CPU an CP343 and two CP341 (modbus) modules and I need to read their status i.e. operating mode, comms faults, for CPU (battery status, rack fault etc...). Can anyone tell me/show me what I need to do please? Is their anyway of simulating faults (can I remove the battery while system is powered up? I guess you'd have to be able to but just checking. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Choose the CPU and under options you may generate all the system messages. If you have a display then you can check there also the messages and they will come automatically on the display, So search for Report System Error in STEP7 and you are raedy. The battery can get out, but when there is no error OB81 then the CPU wil go in STOP.

Denilson Pegaia Platinum Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 4352 Rating: (1452)	Hi, if you can't use the "report system error" you can stract partial diagnoses with the use of SFC51 (it will be a hard work). Look at the help for the SFC 51 to learn how it work and in the equipment manual of each desired device of you wish to extract the diagnose, to learn where the data will stay.
