Communication between Sentron Power Manager and WinCC

Renay Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am having a hard time trying to establish a "link" between Sentron Power Manager and an Engineering station running WinCC (old version V6.I think, not the V7.0 we had no prob with the latest version actually) I wanted to use the OPC server (be it DA ou UA), when I tried to launch it, it went blue (right in front of the client and my boss, so that was humiliating enough-_-' ) and wouldn't work ... drove me crazy for hours but Siemens' Support couldn't help much. So now I'm thinking : - either I re-install SPM (I take my project out in a USB and re-install SPM) - look for another OPC Server that would work, but here again, what OPC Server would work? were to look for one (at Matrikon for example there are looots of choices and some really expansive) If someone can help, I would be much grateful! As you are thinking the problems are out of some compatibility issues perhaps have a look at the compatibility tool or look the compatibilites up in the manual? already did this? CompaTool

I have a PAC, and OPC Server and I want to be able to read data in the Excel sheet, I read it was possible using VB .. but since I have never used it ... Can anyone give me a hint? a simple code ... I can't say time is in my favor, so thank you for your help!

Renay Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Dear Sir, My situation is : We have an SPM OPC Server DA installed, and we want to communicate the data to another PC. (The other PC howerver, has WinCC installed in it, an old version V 6, it actually worked perfectly with the latest version but the Client doesn't want to upgrade THAT machine.) But what I want to do is transfer data to an Excel sheet, so the Excel is to be considered as OPC DA Client .I know it's possible, but couldn't find anything well organized to use, just bits of VB codes here and there, so depressing. In my situation I need to find a solution as fast as possible. So thank you for your help

Renay Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi, Sorry I'm answering kind of late ... Well I installed the demo version on another PC and the OPC DA works just fine (tested it with a Softing client)... I think the Client tried something on the Pc or so. Well, now, what I want to do is get data from the SPM (via OPC Server DA) and put it in an Excel sheet ... I found some codes, but honestly have no idea how to implement and modify the solution to adjust it to my problem. Any ideas are veeery veeery welcome
