"No connection to the PLC"

winston Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I have a tag set to read from a PLC via TCP/IP however currently, when I run, the IO Field is greyed out and hovering over the tag in WinCC reveals the message "No connection to the PLC" (although it also says Quality:8.) Despite this the IP address, rack number and slot number all appear to be correct and I can view the Datablock in question via Step7. I am baffled as to how to proceed although I'm sure the solution must be a simple one. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, Also.. make sure that ALL memory areas accessed by WinCC have been declared in Step 7... if WinCC tries to access a position in a DB which doesn't exist in Step7 you can get connection errors... Also... run the application under APDIAG, to check for errors, and post your logs here. Best regards, Danielle
