Hello Sqruel There is nothing unusual about your configuration. OLMs can be added anywhere in the PROFIBUS Network. It need not be at the end of the segment. Therefore what you plan to do is quite fine. For more information about OLMs, here is a Link to the Manual : PROFIBUS Optical Link Module OLM Manual Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |

Hello Sqruel Yes it will be a Typical Star Topology. The Choice of Pxx / Gxx will Depend upon the Distance and FO cable type Pxx for short distances ( Upto 400m and Gxx for longer distances ( upto3 km ) - Pl see Manual ( Section 4 )for Details You can use P11 / G11 if a Non Redundant F.O. Link is required ( Only one F.O. Pair ) - Page-16 ( Section 3.2 of Manual ) If a Redundant Ring ( Two F.O. Pairs ) is needed, Pl use P12 / G12 - Page-19 ( Section 3.3.2 of Manual ) Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |
