CPU reset by IO access

MMJJII Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi Few months ago, the CPUs were fault and performed the diagnostic buffer. But it is difficult to know what is reason for the fault of CPU. The system is S412-5H, CPU redundancy(rack 0, rack 1), Power redundancy system (415Vac, 220Vac UPS, 110Vdc Battery). In accordance with site commissioning manager, the power have never disconnected before the detection of fault. The diagnostic buffer inform the event records as followings, IO card error --> CPU power loss in rack 0 --> Back up power in rack 0 --> Stop and request memory reset in rack 0--> New start-up prevented by user program invalid It losses the main power, the back-up power supplied ( the terms between them is about 2 minutes). although of this, the memory was reset. Those it means the CPU 0 was fault? or the power supply unit for CPU is fault? Attachment CPU_Buffer.txt (477 Downloads)

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 10/26/2024 Posts: 6852 Rating: (1365)	Hello , Regarding your power supply issue (EventID 16# 494E) , problem can be from the PS itself or even the supply voltage from outside.Please test again with a new PS.For other events like Event ID 16# 6523 , Event ID 16# 4556 you need to check: You should have the final version of program available off-line with an intact communication link to CPUs. In case of flash external memory, data on both flashes are identical. If possible, test the whole system without external memories for each CPU.Note, in this case you will experience a self-test (10 minutes) and it requires machine shutdown. For the next post, report the LED statuses of both CPUs and also upload the buffer of both CPUs. I hope this helps, Hamid Hosseini

MMJJII Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Thank you very much!!! I have one more question for this issue, as i know, although the main power is disconnected, the memory will not removed because of back-up power. But in this case, the memory was reset. as well as the terms between back-up power and main power supply is about 2 minutes. Is it strange or normal?

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 10/26/2024 Posts: 6852 Rating: (1365)	For your new questions: Internal work/load memory in form of RAM is protected against power loss if back up battery exists.In your case (ID:6523/4556), the CPU requests a memory reset due to a problem.See the attached file.Memory reset is possible via STEP 7 or the mode selector.Read more in H-CPU manual. Because of events 4303, I think all these events triggered by a maintenance personnel .I think this is logical by losing power over peripheral modules, the CPU itself and manipulation of CPU with key selector.This is an assumption and I comment only based on provided information. Help on Event 4x03 Explanation In an S7 system: The CPU is in the STOP mode because the mode selector was set to STOP. In an M7 system: The event can also be indicated on a function module (FM).
