WinCC Flex Sm@rtAcces/Sm@rtService question.

Rojas17 Posts: 19 Rating: (1)	Hello everyone! I would like you guys to help me in an application, my question is the following. I would like to know how to connect a TouchPanel with several computes trough an ethernet network, so I can see the Panel, troubleshoot and have some maintenance done remotely, to this Tpanel. Now, I have known that Siemens has this Sm@rt utility/tool that makes this possible, I have checked some manuals and I have looked at internet looking for more information related to. I have known that there are two Siemens options in WinCC Flex, the Sm@rtAcces and Sm@rt Service. I would like to know how these two options work?. Do I have to buy a new WinCC Flex Licence with these or at least one of these options? Or I have to install this option/tool/utility over my WinCC Flex software? Do I have to Install WinCC Flex with Sm@rtAccess/Sm@rtService option(s) in every and each computer to get the connection between my Tpanel and Computers? Do I need one Licence per each computer? Does it use a web browser?? How can I get this application done? Do I need this tool at all? Please help me with this. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance Best regards

Zenta Silver Member Joined: 10/12/2006 Last visit: 11/5/2024 Posts: 206 Rating: (25)	Hi Rojas17, 1. sm@rt acces: if you have 2, or more simatic multipanels, do you can use the sm@rt acces to share the screen between the panels whit sm@rt acces in the host panel and smart view in the remote panel. Important! this is a remote control like VNC, and if you push button, or modify some thing with remote panel, the host panel gose to proteted mode.... 2. sm@rt service: when the MP panel is pluged in to the ethernet network, you can use remotely the panel whit internet explorer, firefox, etc, or you can conect to the panel with VNC. Now, I dont know if you know if WinCC Flexible comes with this option/feature, or if I have to purchase it separately and Installed over my WinCC flexible? Do you know if I need one licence for each computer that I would use? Thanks again!

Hi,

do you need the licence to the server machine.
So if you have 3 mp, or PC, what you want see remotely do you need 3 licence.
If you want see 1 Mp or PC remotely on 3 pc do you need 1 licence.

I have one for the Sm@rtAccess server but the client is also asking me for a License. I though that only the Server required a License :-( Thanks, Dave
