Read V11 PLC with V13 software

malkawi Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Hi i have s7-1200 programed with V11, now i upgraded my TIA to V13, when i try to upload the PLC software to my laptop i get an error for the mismatching TIA version. how can i read/edit a V11 PLC with V13 TIA.

Sorry to have to tell you.. what you are trying to do is not possible. Good news is that you can run TIA13 and TIA11 on the same license.. and even at the same time! I have TIA11 also installed on my system. So it is possible to.. 1. upload the program from the PLC with TIA11 2. save the upload to a TIA11 project 3. open the TIA11 project with TIA13 - which convert it to a TIA13 project 4. compile and save the "new" TIA13 project 5. re-download to the PLC with TIA13. Or else.. work with TIA11 and do not "upgrade" the PLC to TIA13 use. Helpful? w

With V13, you cannot access V11 projects. However, with the V13 license, you _can_ install and use V12. V12 has a [V11] compatibility mode where it can work with directly with V11 projects. V12 SP1 is requires for proper [V11] compatibility mode, plus there are updates (just install the latest update once SP1 is installed. Once you have V12 installed, you will no longer need V11, but if it were me, I would not uninstall V11, I would simply hide the launch icon and only use it if I were out in the field and some pesky problem would not work on V12's [V11] compatibility mode. I have not personally run into that problem, but I could imagine uninstalling V11 and the very next day having to go fix a problem and V12 would not work to resolve the problem. malkawi Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	ok now i have TIA V11 license and TIA v13 licesne. i could install step7 prof v11 on top of v13 and i can use both, but i cant do the same with WINCC prof as i get an error msg that they cant be run in parallel, any suggestion ?
