Connection between winCC flexible runtime and S7 200

For comunication betwen wincc runtime and plc i use PC/PPI cable (rs232) and RS232 Express/34 card installed on my laptop! so i set PG/PC folowing te instruction from siemenes site but no success but when i turn on advaced PPI everythiig is working now!!!

But it worked when I set an OPC server (with PC Access) and put OPC as connection type. @ grunf I would like to know what type of connection did you use in flexible settings and wich virtual machine (as there are many) are you using, because I have tried Microsoft's Virtual Machine and while it can recognise other devices from USB port it does not find the cable (USB/PPI). You also said that it worked when you used the RS232 PC/PPI cable and did not with USB. Did you change anything in the settings also?
