Modbus TCPIP on PN port: Redundancy and switches

Our PLC- 414-5H without CP443-1 2. 5 AB PLC on Modbus TCPIP 3. Redundant Modbus-TCPIP communication with HMI(2K tags)- (TIA-IPC477D) and WinCC SCADA(8K tags) 4. 3 Drives on Modbus-TCPIP 5. Redundant Modbus-TCPIP communication with DCS (It is master and our PLC is slave.). All the above are to be carried out with the help of PN port on CPU. My questions are - 1. Can we configure above network or additional CPs are required. 2. Can we simultaneously work as Modbus master(eg. for DCS) or modbus slave.(eg. for drives) on PN port of CPU. 3. As CPU-400H is used, how can we achieve redundancy? 4. How many various licenses are required? 5. I am using non-siemens Ethernet switch (eg. Dlink, Phoenix or CISCO). What are required specs for the same?

Whether Profinet protocol compliant switch is mandatory for all above communication tasks? or In other way, I would like to say - As I am not using Profinet protocol at all for all my comm. tasks, then I should not need Profinet protocol compliant switch. 4. What are various programming precautions to be taken while programming and commissioning?

Hello Sachinpatke, 1. just take a look at the technical data of the CPU and / or this FAQ https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/103709646 2. single-sided redundancy and double-sided redundancy are explained in detail in this manual https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/103498202 3. If you don't use profinet you don't need a profinet compliant switch. ModbusTCP is like TCP native. 4. the library includes a sample project Regards, Kaulquappe
