communication S5 with sinamics s 120

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Hi, I'm not a drive expert, but there is a handbook with the description of Profibus DP with the Sinamics S120 Control Units and additional system components & Drive Functions The S5 could couple with the IM 308C if the Sinamics S120 is NOT DPV1... I have checked both manuals but I couldn't find anything for communicating with SIMATIC S5 or what is needed as Protocol on Profibus, I see on some places that PROFIdrive might be the protocol... I think that is a Profibus DPV2 protocol... If it is, then it won't work... But please ask in the Product Conference of SIMAMICS if this is the matter.
