Help for new Grad

Hello everyone! 

I am fresh graduate in "Automation and Control" major. I haven't found job yet :) Everywhere where I apply, needs an experience >3 years, so I am trying to get some experience/knowledge by learning from already existing finished process control projects, can anyone help me with getting knowledge in practical process control problem solving? especially, in Oil&Gas. May be some of you know some books or manuals where industrial automation is solved STEP by STEP, beginning with defining problem, technological process description, defining parameters,selecting instrumentation,PLC, relays, protective elements(more stress on this 2), biulding schemes how all this will connect, a bit of programming, ending with testing of  the equipemnt and system.

 There are several possible answers for your request.But in my point of the view, the best way of learning a topic would be involved in it and it is be part of your daily affairs.It is good to gain fundamental background beforehand, but practice and on job training is the best way to gain that fundamental background.My suggestion would be searching for "Apprenticeship program in automation for graduate students". Contact the companies that offer the program and join their group for starting your automation career .

Besides, you can refer to online references to share your knowledge with other users and learn from them.But as a starting point, I suggest checking the following presentations that explain basic of S7 automation system:

Actually, I've sent lots of applications for "Graduate programs" of different companies, SIEMENS was in that list. Unfortunately, 95% don't even consider International student (I am from Kazakhstan), even SIEMENS declined my application, they didn't tell the reason, but I think, that cause I don't have visa and they don't want to make sponsorship for that(. So, at this time I am disappointed, because when you search for those programs, mostly there are in UK,Canada,Australia,US and Europe. I have visited links that you sent, and wanted to ask, are there any resources apart from SIEMENS, where I can get answers for my questions that I listed above? Is there any book that mostly will answer my questions?

Just to add additional information:

You contacted the international companies for your apprenticeship program?You can find very small local companies to start your journey to automation world,possibly you can find even a small machine controlled by PLC (non-Siemens or possibly small one), but that will give you the insight you want to start.

For SIMATIC Products, SIOS the website we discuss in the forum section is perfect while for the other major products you will find the corresponding support website and a forum for discussion among users/expert from all of the world.Great discussion can be found in "Control.com" or "Linkedin.com' for general discussions on an specific topic.
