CU320 Licence Lost

stuartr Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	Hi, sorry but another problem that maybe I can get help with. One of my CU320's appears to have lost it's licence. On checking the help files it says to insert the licence number off the certificate into parameter 9920 and then activate with 9921. However, 9920 won't accept anything, even if I change the access to service mode, and the drive in operation/commissioning. It's not stopping me from working, it's just not working (and frustrating bearing in mind my company paid for the licence). Any thoughts? Cheers Stuart

Drives_Coach Posts: 133 Rating: (13)	Stuart, When you enter the key into 9920 index 0..9 it must be in Dec not ASCII. The key will be something like M3XB-VAK..... and converts into the index's as 77 51 88 66,,,,, You should then be able to change 9921 to a 1. Alwaysremember if you upgrade thefirmware in the CF to save your keys fileor you will overwrite it and loose the performance option. Also the Key is only good for that CF as it is attached to the serial number on the CF. stuartr Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	Hi Drives Coach Thanks for the help but I managed to get myself in a little pickle, because I seem to have misplaced just this one licence issue (we have 7 CU320's and 6 D4x5's and only 12 licence sheets - go figure which one loses it's licence). Anyway, on the page you referenced, there is a get key page, which I went to and got the current key for my S120. It is in the format you described (ASCII) so my question is, can I just put this number into a text file and copy it into the keys folder on the CF. I did upgrade this CF (from 2.4 to 2.5) and have a backup on disk of the stored keys folder, but this appears as an unknown charchter when I open the txt file in the keys folder. By comparison, when I open the same txt file for the D445, I have a character string as described previously. Any thoughts? Cheers Stuart
