Hello!
I want to create a big machine simulation. And I am getting confused with those PLCSIM and SIMIT Virtual controllers. Do I get it correct, that both PLCSIM and SIMIT Virtual controllers simulates PLC's? I have to simulate at least 2 PLC's, but complete solution is to simulate 13 PLC's, where 1 is S7-1500 and others CPU300. Am I right, that in case of 2 PLC's (S7-1500 + CPU300), I can use only PLCSIM V12+, since SIMIT VC does not support S7-1500? If I would like to simulate only CPU300 and/or CPU400, and only 1 to 5 controllers, SIMIT VC would be OK too? Why Siemens uses 2 platforms instead of 1? Is there any benefits of using SIMIT VC, instead of PLCSIM?
By the way, What does "Together with the release of SIMIT Simulation Framework V8.1, SIMIT V8.0 will be declared a phased-out product." mean here: SIMIT Simulation Framework V8.1 and SIMIT Virtual Controller V3.0 Released for Ordering and Delivery ? Is SIMIT platform going to be obsolete? What is new platform, then?
