Step 7 Programming lead serial

Is it possible to communicate down this lead through a USB to Serial adapter generic type I have been using the adapter for Allen Bradley and GE Fanuc and even Modicon but just wanted to know if I have to buy a new cable. SteveJ Posts: 328 Rating: (29)	Hi No, you cannot communicate directly with S7 plc via serial port, S7 requires an MPI interface. If used from a laptop PC, an RS232 - RS485interface is required to connect via MPI.these are available from authorized distributors (6ES79720CA230XA0) Best regards SteveJ

To do some experiment, I will use PC as display (with Hyper Terminal, from Windows). Is that experiment can do well or anyone have another idea? How to receive analog data and then transmit it to my PC? Best regard, Vannes
