Hello, I suggest you will follow the manual: PCS7 PC Configuration and authorization v7.0. You can find all manuals of PCS7 7.0 here. As you can see, also on the compatibility tool that is already provided, that XP SP2 is only released for v7.0. I'm assuming you use v7.0, but there are also service packs available. The highest is PCS7 v7.0 SP3. For this version+SP, Windows XP SP3 is released. I suggest, you will use the latest service pack, because of bug fixes and improvements and thus you can use Windows XP SP3. Normally, you would not want to deviate from the compatibility tool or a document called: "Released modules". Only use released software and hardware, otherwise Siemens does not guarantee support and proper functionality (problems could arise) BTW: Is this a completely new system you are going to setup? Please note that at the end of 2016, PCS7 7.x is not supported anymore (lifecycle ends). |
