Hi! I connected a S7-300 CPU-2DP to IM153-2 through Profibus DP. If I switch off the power supply of IM153-2, the program of S7-300 CPU-2DP STOPs. I read that I have to create OB122 as an object in your S7 program using STEP7 and have to write the program to be executed in OB122. But I didn't find what do I have write into OB122! Thank you for your answers in advance. |

Hi! There is no need to write any code into the OB122. If you have only the empty OB122 in you CPU, the CPU won't change to STOP mode. If you want you can add some code to the OB122, e.g. to send a message to a text panel. But you may also need the OB 85 (Priority Class Error) and / or the OB 86 (Rack Failure) in you CPU to prevent it from changing to STOP mode. |

And be aware. If fault OBs are present only to prevent a PLC stop and your program doesn't take care of fault condition/handling then in a real world a plant/machine may continue operation despite that part of it is out of order. |
