TD problems

I've just started commissioning a system with an 0BA7 series Logo and a TD HMI I have a number of messages, that are set to display on both the Logo integral LCD and on the TD. On the Logo the messages display perfectly, but on the TD some (but not all) of the text is either missing or corrupted. The only pattern I can see is that the problems are all in bits of text generated dynamically with the "ON/OFF" function of the message configurator. The attached file shows photos of the LOGO and corresponding TD display, at the end is a printout from Logosoft of the coding behind the messages. As can be seen on the photos, messages 1/9 & 2/9 display correctly on both the Logo & TD, but messages 3/9 & 4/9 only show the fixed portion of the text on the TD whilst displaying correctly on the Logo. Comparing the coding it can be seen the method used is identical - all four of the messages reference M flags, yet two of them work and two of them don't. Messages 5/9, 6/9, 7/9 & 8/9 display either some bizarre characters - ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ or nothing at all, but again the coding concept behind all four is identical. Message 9/9 displays more of the bizarrre characters, yet the coding - referencing M flags is the same as used earlier. Have I got a faulty TD, or have I discovered and error in the firmware? Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, if you power the LOGO! TD, then for a view seconds the LOGO! TD Firmware version will be shown. What the FW-Version of the LOGO! TD and the LOGO! you use. I also see you have some problems to display charackters in lots of your messages. Copy the program and in the copy change the charackter set to GBK. This is for Chineese, but you can add your text. With GBK you get 16 charakter per line instead of 12. The charackters are a little smaller. Just an idea. Use GBK and move your status text so it is not starting at the first charackter and not ending at the last charackter in a line. Maybe this improves your issue. Hope this helps

Neil Frankish Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi Helmut, Thanks for the advice. I've tried changing the character set to GBK, but I still have the same problem of the missing and corrupted text. The firmware version of the LOGO is V01.03.32 The firmware version of the TD is V1.07.26 Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks Neil

rpetyus Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hello Neil! I had the same problem last year. In the LOGO! 7 the limit of the I/O status is 40. (in the Message text limit is 8) But TD shows correctly only 20 (TD version is 8). (in the Message text TD shows correctly only 4) I got from Siemens the newer TD but is not the TD version of 9 yet. Neil Frankish Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thanks rpetyus, Firmware issues with the TD was the conclusion I came to. In the end I had to re-write all the message texts using a lot of simple static text messages to replace the faulty dynamic text. Siemens really do need to get this sorted out urgently, the TD is an extension of the integral Logo display, and for it to have capabilities at least equal to the base unit is a minimum acceptable requirement. Knowing all the problems it could cause me I'm now very relectant to use a TD again.
