Dear all, Has anyone succesufully used ABB's AC500 PLC with Wincc Flexible both PC Runtime and panels? If yes, what settings have been used at both ends? regards Nik

Dear All, I managed to find a way to connect the AC500 with WinCC Flexible. Attached you will find the programm for AC500, WinCC Flexible, part of the manual for the AC500 manual and a Control Builder Screenshot. The way to do this is the following: AC500 is capable of communicating via Modbus TCP/IP. So the ethernet port needs to be parametrized for Modbus TCP/IP. It is important to set the "server connections" to something greater than 1 (see attached screenshot). The default setting is zero and if it is left to zero then no communication can be initiated. In the Flexible side, Configure a Modicon Modbus TCP/IP connection. Care must be taken to do the addressing correct (see atteched extract from AC500 manual). In the AC500 MW are splitted in segments depending on the CPU memory capacity i.e. %MW0.100, %MW1.100 etc. In the tags the address of %MW0.100 is %MW100. For bit tags bits need to be extracted from the MW. So as per the manual the byte order is motorola and the byte addresses are 2n and 2n+1 of MWn. For example: %MW100.0 in WinCC Flex is %MX0.201.0 %MW100.8 in WinCC Flex is %MX0.200.0 Regards Nik AttachmentAC500.zip (679 Downloads) |

Nikzitronik Do you see advantages of using WinCC Flex with ac500 in comparing of using WinCC Flex with s7? Programming, commissioning of ac500? Thnx
