need to confirm s7400H redundant system architecture

   Our Working team building redundant system for one of our project using PROFINET network and following hardware:-

1. UR2-H 2 x 9 slots Rack "6ES7400-2JA00-0AA0"

2. Two Nos of CPU 412-5H " 6ES7412-5HK06-0AB0"

3. Two Nos of Power supply PS407 4A " 6ES7407-0DA02-0AA0"

4. One No of IM 153-4 High Feature for ET 200M, PROFINET " 6ES7153-4BA00-0XB0"

5. set of IO cards attached with IM 153-4

need to build a system as per attached architecture.

Question 1: Am i in need to add any communication module to allow IM 153-4 to communicate with the 2 Nos of CPUs or i can make it via the available 2 PROFINET ports on the IM 153-4?

As i see on the System Manual, 12/2010, A5E00267695-07 -also shown in attached photo - there is 2 modules installed on ET200M to communicate with the 2 CPUs; i want to clarify this point.

Question 2: is ET200SP can take place of ET200M in redundant system configuration?

You still need synchronization modules and fiber optic patch cords.

No, You don't need any additional modules.

The A5E00267695-07 manual is not the latest. Check this one for Profinet IO configuration with H-systems.

 IF you are ordering, I think you need more components like:

1. backup batteries for power supply
2. ram or flash card as per your requirement for both CPUs.
3. Profient cable and connectors
4. Rail for mounting of ET200M cards
5. Bus modules for cards
6. Front connectors for IO cards, etc.

I must have forgotten the memory cards.

Just wanted to share my experience as I have seen it more than once when H-systems were installed without memory cards relying on the integrated load memory (512 KB in case of 412-5H).

As for the backup batteries, Sure it saves time (after a power cycle) and it will backup the program on a RAM memory card but it's still not an essential component for H systems.

 ET 200SP can be used with System Redundancy, connected in open ring (i.e. the ring will be "closed" by the redundancy link between the CPU). You have to use HF interface module.

I stand corrected. You are absolutely correct regarding the ET200SP.

Although it is neither mentioned in the 400H manual nor in Which PROFINET devices support media redundancy and which system redundancy?, it seems to be working.

I've tested it within SIMATIC Manager's HW configuration and looks working

It's also clearly mentioned in the Function expansions for ET 200SP interface and I/O modules.

Singular system redundancy: NAP: S2

From firmware version V3.0, the ET 200SP interface module IM155-6PN HF can be connected via NAP S2 system redundancy to an S7-400H system (from firmware version V 6.0.4). The following station set-up rules apply here:

1.    The maximum data length per station with active S2 redundancy is 990 bytes each for input data and output data. The length is composed of:

·        I/O data, including user data qualifiers that may have been configured

·        Number of I/O modules with exclusively input or output data (in bytes)

·        2 x number of I/O modules with input and output data (in bytes)

2.    The combination of S2 redundancy with the Configuration controller function (option handling) is not supported with firmware V3.0.

3.    Possible I/O modules with active S2 System redundanz
With firmware version V3.0, all I/O modules can be used with the exception of PROFIsafe modules and the station expansion with ET connection for connecting the ET 200AL

Glad to be helpful. Also, pay attention not to mix MRP (Media Redundancy) ans S2 (System Redundancy). Honestly, Siemens manuals are not clear, nor providing any configuration example on Step 7
