isoPROFIBUS card has an error 37

 Hi,

Don't mean to hijack this post but we're looking into a similar application where we would like to use a newer generation computer motherboard to run our Thermwood (wood cutting software).

We have an isoPROFIBUS PCI card onto a newer generation motherboard i5 vs P4, we installed the 6AU1390-0AA00-0AA0 / isoPROFIBUS card into the new computer and moved over the XP installation as well, windows loads but the isoPROFIBUS card has an error coming up in device manager (error 37).

1) this is the latest P350 HW, no successor available, but you can order this HW as spare part from SIEMENS.

2) if i understand correctly you will runing the P350 on a niormal PC System

Forget it, is not possible.
First the SW have a HW Check , if you not running on a SIEMENS IPC Based System -> Fail

The SIMOTION P350 HW have a specialiced BIOS and PCI Interrupt Config to guarantee that the

mandatory RealTime Parts are running correctly on the system.

On a normal PC is very difficult to arange this settings.

Other point is the HW Ressources like COM Ports / Grapgic Adapter etc. for all this you need in a normal PC special drives which not included in the SIMOTION Image , and the dependency between this HW, Drives and SIMOTION SW are not clear.

nexxt is that you need a PCI Slot for the ISOProfibus Board, on a actual PC no PCI is designed.
and is not really clear which PCI Standard you need fpr the Board (3.3V or 5V?)
