V20 Frequency change From HMI

Hi

I maybe fitting the following inverter

• 6SL3210-5BE15-5UV0

and want to be able to just change the frequency from a KPT700 screen 

i am using a S7-1200 PLC 

what advice would be the best way to do this

Sorry for not getting back sooner as i have been away.

thanks for the reply to my post and is very helpful.

as i am new to some of this i would liken to ask further questions 

as the example given seems very useful will it help for me just to change the frequency hertz's only from the HMI as a stand alone adjustment as i dont need all the other logic within the example 

in theory i just want to use the HMI to give a signal to the PLC to give a 0-10v output to the drive

What you are thinking of doing is less hard than using communication. However, your question and expectations from the forum is too big and too much.

You have more chance if you do some footwork and come with smaller questions.

Some hints for configuring the V20 ->
The booklet that comes with the drive have some discussion on how to configure a new drive.  The PDF book has the identity: A5E31842771.

Look for the image:

This is close to the application configuration you need. The drive is free to configure as you want - you do not have to use the preset configurations. The preset configurations have a table that explains what is configured for you when using a preset.

The table looks like:

The pre-configuration images and the table was very useful for me to use as examples to get my own custom configurations.

The PLC program hints ->
Look for subjects relating to the SCALE_X instruction. This is needed to convert your HMI settings to something the analog output can use.

The limits for the analog outputs can be found in the PDF with identity A5E02486680-AK. Appendix A has the specifications of all the hardware. There is a helpful table (the hardware that give the analog output) that start like this:

What I understood from your latest post is, you want to configure V20 without PLC but want to very speed by changing frequency from HMI. Is it correct? 

If yes, please refer SINAMICS V20 Inverter example where in you will find different predefined macro applications. You do not need external HMI since from BOP you can vary the set point/speed.

If you want to use external HMI you will need PLC + HMI o set up communication with V20.
