The RET_VAL is feedback of an alarm code. It does not make sense to feed this into a time value. Is that time value used anywhere in your program. Just simply make that tag (variable) a WORD type. -- With "IEC CHECK" deselected in the code block attributes, a WORD can be moved into an S5TIME tag.
