Life of S7-400 and S7-300 PLC

Hello Every one

Can anyone please tell me about the life/total working hours of an S7-400 and S7-300 Siemens PLCs?i.e from now onwards for how many years Siemens will provide support/spares will be available for these PLCs??

companies in many fields, especially industrial automation.

 Do you mean How many days we can use a specific PLC? like CD(we can use CD R/W according to the number of sectors)?

Or do you mean how to count total operating hours for any controlled output like Motors.

 No one can give you a precise answer of this question because life of a PLC is majorly depends upon the environment conditions.It also depends upon the selection because SIEMENS made different variants of the PLC, IO's etc according to the system requirements.So please provide more details about your question.

• Product Delivery Release (P.M 300)
  From this date on the product is available for delivery for up to 12 years, i.e. available for normal ordering. This is also the active selling phase.
• Announcement of Product Phaseout (P.M 400)
  This milestone is the beginning of the 10-year spare part commitment period. The product is still available as a new part, but the active selling phase has ended.
• ProductCancellation(end of production) (P.M 410)
  This milestone is the beginning of the spare part phase. With some exceptions the product is only available on spare part basis.
• Product Discontinuation (P.M 490)
  This milestone is the end of our 10-year spare part commitment period. The product is no longer available from us and the support is discontinued. This is also the end of the PLM of the SIMATIC HMI accessories for this product, which then cease to be available.

regarding the lifetime, meaning the plc runs without breakdown it is difficult to give a specific answer.

But we have still S5-115U plc in our factory. They were build in the 1980's.

With the S7-300 it is the same and also the S7-400.

In case the environment is ok they last for a very long time.

Life Cycle information of Simatic parts in general are avaliable in their product page. Delivery Release/Announced Phase out.... etc.

If you want to review the life cycle status of your site you need check the hardware elements individually. If you have an accurate parts list, the job gets very easy.
