There are 2 ways to exchange data between your 2 PLCs.
1- Without using CPs and using the DP-ports of CPUs. You will consider on of the CPUsas MASTER and the other one as Intelligent slave. The intelligent slave can't be a Master ( Through its DP port). SO, IF BOTH PLCS HAVE DP-SLAVES like ET200 M/S OR WHATEVER DP-SLAVE YOU HAVE, YOU CAN'T USE THIS METHOD. Check this FAQ to see how to configure a CPU as intelligent DP slave. You can replace the S7-400 master with S7-300 master. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/6518822 2- Using CPs. If both CPUs are masters, you MUST use CPs. I think you can use S7-communication in this case. There's another alternative if you can't go with any of the 2 Profibus solutions. You can exchange data between the 2 PLCs using MPI ports. But you may suffer from slow baud rate as MPI works on 187.5 KB/S Check this FAQ for global data communication. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/430498 If you are interested to understand communication is SIMATIC world, check this. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/20982954 |
