CPU red led blinking after configuration change

Which module is designated as defective in the plc diagnostics buffer?

Questions:

1. Was the PLC and all connected modules powered off when the TC module was removed?

2. Have you performed a hardware configuration change download since removing the TC module?  Refer to the attached image as something to try even if you think you did it already.

Hello,
I'm using the CPU 1217C, a 16 DO (Relays) module and an AI module (8x13). I was also using 2 other TC modules and everything was working fine. Then I decided to to take off the TC modules since I wasn't using them. After I changed the configuration (Hardware and on Tia portal v15 too), the Red Led of the CPU started blinking ! The leds of the AI and DO modules were green (no problems).

The diagnostic on Tia Portal says "defective module"...

I just want to add that, at the beginning, when I tested the new configuration, it worked fine (as shown in attachment), but then it suddenly stopped. This makes me think it could be a cable disconnection.

What could the problem be ? Is it some configuration problem ? Or could it be related to some cable disconnection (maybe some power supply cable or something ? After I took off the modules).

Time to factory reset the PLC and download it all again, or, describe what is in the diagnostics buffer.

You see, for the plc to allow you to read the diag buffer, for the plc to enter data into the diag buffer, it cannot be completely defective.

The thing about these PLCs - any input or output that is configured with diagnostics and maybe not used can generate a similar message.

For example, if your analog inputs are configured for voltage and left unwired, eventually they will float beyond allowed range and fault the plc.

The defective module is the CPU. The others are working fine (green led on).

And yes I tried downloading again as shown in your attachment, but same problem
