IPC477E + Wireless

AutoGen_8885520 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone. In the attachment is a photo of the IPC477E motherboard (my unit at least). I have a need to expand it’s capability, meaning I want to add wireless networking. I can probably use a wireless USB dongle, but I was wondering if the slot I highlighted on the picture is capable of supporting a wireless card? Also the thing is that space inside the unit is really limited so I don’t know how to fit a wireless card inside. Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 11/18/2024 Posts: 22453 Rating: (3030)	Hello, do you have the exact MLFB of the IPC? In the picture the Riserboard is displayed. With this riserboard you can extend the IPC with a PCIe Slot to plug a standard PCIe x4 Card . But from the Picture you have a IPC without the PCIe Extension so only the riserboard is available which can not be used for Standard Cards. Regards Christoph

AutoGen_8885520 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	My model has a very small housing, so if we go with the PCI-E route then we’ll have to leave the back plate open. Do you maybe have a product name/number for a wireless card that is known to work? And maybe a few pictures? Did you maybe try using an USB wireless dongle and if yes how did it perform?
