Hi onatdogan, This is a possible solution, assuming:
You can store the data in files named after the barcode string. They can be stored on the panel itself, or a USB/Data SD card. Assuming that you will be storing many files (>1000), you'll need to separate the files into folders due to limitations with the CE operating system. The best folder structure to use is one based on the barcodes. For example, if your barcode is 20 digits long, you can have 6 levels of folders to ensure no folder contains > 1000 files or folders. Example:
In the 6th level folder, would be the actual barcode files. E.g. if the barcode was 00493120495839029403, then it would be in the following folder:
You don't have to create all these folders initially. You can create them as required as barcode data is stored. A script that creates nested folder structures for you is attached (from an old SIOS application example). When you need to look up barcode data, you determine the folder based on the entered barcode. Then, if the file can be opened (i.e. exists), load the data and display on screen. There are plenty of application example demonstrating how to read/write data to txt files from Comfort panels. Finally, if you are in fact using a Comfort panel, please consider (based on how important this data is) whether the use of another system (e.g. Runtime Advanced + SQL Server / WinCC Professional) is a more appropriate method of storage.
