Hello dikul, According to ISA-95 the SCADA system should exchange data with the MES system, which then should exchange data with the ERP. That's because according to this standard each layer has their own functions. If you have a new plant you may consider using a MES system, so you can have functionallities such asplant downtime management, integration with lab systems, longterm database, etc. OPC is a good choice protocol for data exchange between a SCADA system and MES or ERP. This would allow for a standard protocol if you have different SCADA systems. It may be useful to know thatsome MES and ERP systems have some built-in functions or modules which may make integration easier. For instance, if you use Siemens' MES solution (Simatic IT) with PCS7 or WinCC there are options for easy data export and diagnose. Best regards, Danielle |
