Serial number from IoT2050

Hi!

Does have any way to get the serial number from IoT2050 calling some command in OS ?

I need to get the serial number in my Node.js application and I've trying some "dmidecode" commands but no success.

Wait! That interface may not be stable. It is based on a pattern in the current firmware that may not be kept for the next release (it's definitely gone in the development version on https://github.com/siemens/u-boot/commits/jan/iot2050).

I think we will need to define a better interface for that.

We've discussed this internally, and we settled over the current U-Boot environment interface (fw_printenv). So all is fine, and will remain like that (upstream queue already updated).

Just for understanding, where this serial number is stored in the device?

It's recorded on any memory during the manufacturing process?

EEPROM, read-only after production.

What you are reading via fw_printenv is a replication of that information, provided by the bootloader. That copy is stored in read-writable flash (can be switched to read-only mode via X1500).
