1016 Channel 1 axis C2 system error 550010

tome9999 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I am testing a program where I have a center in my subspindle, pressed into the end of the part and spindles are synchronized. It cuts the roughing profile just fine. Inside the finishing profile at line 12650 I get this error and the machine stops: 1016 Channel 1 axis C2 system error 550010 The line shown where it stops is "N12650 G1 Z-5.7187 F0.005” - but sometimes I have noticed that the line it shows at the time of the error isn’t always where the error is. tome9999 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Some additional information... This appears to be related to having my spindles synchronized and maybe running G96? It is definitely related to running with the spindles synchronized. I have been running it more and I have now had it fail at other spots in the code, not just the one it was failing at over and over. I also got it to run almost through to the end by hitting feed hold between the rough and finish cycle and letting the spindles get up to speed (or at least that is what I THINK did it). I did try to sprinkle some M103 (wait for spindle speed reached) in there but that didn’t help. Then it stopped and threw that same error near the end of the roughing cycle. I should be able to turn with the spindles synchronized and using G96 (CSS) yes? Is there something I should be adding to make sure spindles are at speed before a given operation? I am at a loss on what is going on...

tome9999 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I am wondering if I can help this out by adjust the COUPDEF settings? Is there a good definition of the parameters in the coupling definition? I don’t see a clear definition in the manuals as to what they mean or how to actually use them. My current coupling definition is set to: COUPDEF(S2,S1,-1,1,"IPO","DV”). I just copied IPO and DV from something else so don’t really understand if I should be doing something different. I wonder if I should use “VV” or "AV" instead of “DV”….? Also “COURSE” block change, what does that mean? Would that allow me to more loosely couple the spindles? I am using a center in the subspindle so it isn’t crucial that they are PERFECTLY synchronized. Do I set a value for COURSE and if so, how? I see the options are: Block change: “NOC” Immediately “FINE” On reaching "Synchronism fine" “COARSE” On reaching "Synchronism coarse" “IPOSTOP” On reaching IPOSTOP; in other words, after setpoint-based synchronism (default) Coupling type: “DV” Setpoint Linkage (default) “AV” Actual coupling “VV” Speed coupling -Tom

Setting my COUPDEF from (S2,S1,-1,1,"IPO","DV”) to (S2,S1,-1,1,"COURSE","DV”) seems to have solved the issue. I am now able to run through the program in it's entirety. I was also able to find the variables that set the tolerances for FINE and COURSE types. There is a position tolerance and a velocity tolerance. Mine are set to: MD37200 COUPLE_POS_TOL_COURSE - Position Course:0.0393" MD37210 COUPLE_POS_TOL_FINE - Position Fine:0.0196" MD37220 COUPLE_VELO_TOL_COURSE - Velocity Course:2.362 in/min MD37220 COUPLE_VELO_TOL_FINE - Velocity Fine:1.181 in/min This is the best reference I have found for the information related to the coupling definition: https://cache.industry.siemens.com/dl/files/510/56950510/att_53967/v1/FB2_0911_en_en-US.pdf -Tom
