Issue in F-FBD with 300F

AutoGen_420276 Posts: 6 Rating: (1)	Dear Experts, I am new to F systems. I have a 300F plc with DI and DO modules. I am trying to configure the system to develop a fail safe system. My queries are: 1) Can I use F-FBD for programming F systems or I have to use CFC language only. 2) I tried using F-FBD block (FB 304 and FB 378) but it is asking for struct type inputs. How can I use struct type input. In output I am able to connect Q addresses. I am attaching screenshot of FB and DB created. Pls guide me. I am also attaching the program developed for learning. Also what is the basic difference between S7 Distributed Safety and S7-400FH systems. Does distributed safety mean only for 300F based system? Thanks for help Attachment db_img.JPG (354 Downloads)

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 1/5/2026 Posts: 6892 Rating: (1368)	Dear user, As far as attached files are suggesting , you are doing all wrong.Calling a block from S7-F/FH stsrem in LAD/STL/FBD editor is wrong. You need the install the whole requirement of S7-F/FH stsrem such as library and proper CFC for programming. SIEMENS industry introduced S7 Distribued safety for CPUs that already have the F label like S7-300F and S7-400F. Safety logic execution and safety communication is embedded in their firmware and they are implemented for safety in factory automation. S7-F/FH systems are suitable for process automation , they are designed for H-CPUs and all safety features are done by safety blocks and programminig. I hope it helps, hdhosseini
