I have a very old MicroWin project (1999) that I need to open...

MicroWin 4.x say that I need to open it with the version I created the project and save it in awl...

I installed MicroWin 2.0 but it gives me a generic error when I try to open it.

I don't have other MicroWin versions to try and open it... 

What can I do?

 I only own the installation discs for 2.0 and 4.0... (probably we had also the 3.x previously somewhere...)

 I found the 3.2 SP2 but it still gave me an error as for the 4.0. So it was made with a previous version.

Still the 2.0 doesn't works... so maybe an update of the 2.0?

I contacted Siemens 'cause I can't find any downlodable update...

 Ok here the solution.

I found that in the cd with the WinCC 4.0 there is also a subfolder with the ver.2.1 to install.

With that all that is needed is following these steps:

1. Start Step7 Microwin 2.1 to open the file.
2. Deselect Symbolic addressing. (CTRL+Y)
3. Switch to STL view.
4. Export the project to save it in .awl.

Then just open the MicroWin 4.0 create a new project and import it.

I have the same problem about opening it with V4 and now its telling me to open it with the one it was generated . Is this v2.1 , does it come with the V4 ? i have the V4 but i am noit sure how to look or check if i have it ?

• The two Service Packs 8 and 9 for STEP7 MicroWIN V4.0 are compatible with all S7-200 CPUs (CPU 21x and CPU 22x).
• Programs created with earlier MicroWIN versions can be opened and further processed without any restrictions.
• Projects created with the new Service Packs can be neither opened nor processed with older versions.
