Hello everyone :D I hope this is the right place for this Topic. As one might know, eCl@ss can be used to describe a Product or Asset in a standardized manner. Therefore eCl@ss provides a lot of Classes and different templates to do so. My question now is, is eCl@ss really that important and useful as i think, especially if you want to include the data of an eCl@ss product catalog in your program, Siemens NX for example ? (NX has a ready to use interface and can include Data you can get from the Siemens eCl@ss-Server - Youtube) If you think the whole thing a little further, couldn't you also use this catalog to create virtual twins within other platforms, such as game engines? Background would be, that you already have a suitable physics engine which can help to simulate machines within a higher level. In addition, in relation to the currently running Automatica Webinars (Virtual Commissioning - what's in it for me ?, 26.08.2020), there were some questions about where to find suitable machine data to develop a virtual twin (Inertia, Momentum, Motordata). As i heared that, i had to think about the eCl@ss standard, could it provide such data? It would be very interesting to disucss this topic with someone who has already used eCl@ss, but also of course with everyone else who is interested in such a topic. Greetings, Chris :D |
