CPU224 do not go into RUN mode

JoshNPS Posts: 11 Rating: (1)	Good day all, I have a problem with a S7-200 CPU224 DC/DC/DC. There is power on the PLC but the RUN led does not turn on. Only the STOP led stays on ORANGE. The MODE switch is set to RUN but the PLC still does not run. Moving the switch does nothing. Is it possible that the PLC is "bad"? The PLC is +/- 20 years old

Is it possible that the PLC is "bad"? The PLC is +/- 20 years old Hello. The PLC you speak of has a three way mode switch. Make sure you are switching to the furthest right position. Is that what you did? Is it possible for you to connect the PLC to a PC? The Microwin software has some tools to diagnose status messages from the PLC which may help further analysis. Good luck.

Yes moving the switch yields no results. The PLC stays in STOP mode with the STOP led illuminated. Unfortunately the PLC is in another country and I am assisting remotely.
