1200 as Profinet slave

Hi Everyone, Can S7-1200 be configured as a Profinet slave?

You will have to get used to the specific language used by Profinet networks: an IO controller (~ master) communicates with one or more IO devices (~ slaves).

And yes, the S7-1200 PLCs can act as IO controller to 8 Io devices.

It can also act as IO device to an IO controller. When the IO controller is a S7 PLC, then the S7-1200 is called an i-device:

The "i-device" means optional feature of an IO controller allowing it to be an IO device at the same time and the same Profinet interface.
