What method did you use to install the update?   What PLC firmware do you have?  Which portal version do you have?

TIA Portal V13 supports v1.0 and v1.3.

If you want v1.2, you will most likely have to contact Siemens Technical Support (using "My requests" from your support cockpit - located to the right of these forums when viewed via standard web browser layout).

However, if you are using a memory card which has successfully installed firmware updates before, perhaps you did not follow the instructions properly, were not patient enough, or inadvertently left a firmware revision in the memory card from another plc or module.

Many reasons it will fail to work properly.  The online diagnostics should help you figure out what is going on.

If it were me, I would update to v1.3 using a memory card and follow the instructions precisely.  These instructions were created by technical people from Germany most likely, and they are known for very precise instructions where one missed step and everything falls apart.

I have a problem

PROFIBUS communication master which I bought has got an old firmware in v1.2.

I have downloaded the firmware in v 1.3 and tried to update it via TIA Portal v13. Unfortunately error was returned (in online diagnostics of module, i stopped CPU)

Now i'm trying to download v1.2 of this unit to TIA Portal so as to add this version in project.

Unofurtunately i cannot find this version in the Internet. Have someone url or just this version of firmware to upload here?

I am very glad you got your firmware updated.  I am not 100% on this, but certain firmware PLCs only allow the PLC firmware updated via web server.  I believe also certain firmware revisions on modules require the MMC until they get updated with a firmware that supports web server firmware updates.

Each module and firmware level requirements for the MMC should be included in the readme for the firmware being installed.  It is simply a matter of reading it and following along step by step without interruption or distraction.  In our jobs, that is very often easier to say than to do!

Ok I try to uplload firmware via mmc

how can I download firmware from pc to mmc whereas I cannot format it using windows? Once I put mmc in PC card reader it claims to format it. Can i upload firmware on mmc using TIA Portal v13 or Step 7 v 5.5 ?

I would like to add i'm using mmc with following catalogue number
