Getting started with logo plc

Hi i am a student of M.Tech and want to use logo plc, for my automation project

i have purchased USB logo cable from ebay (please see the atachment of the product)

No I want to buy the Logo plc which can be programmed with this cable, so please tell me which version should i buy clearly

Note that i must buy only that version of logo plc which is programmed by the usb logo cable (not with any other programming medium)

also tell me the minimum version of the logosoft to get started with the plc u tell and the usb logo cable i bought

This cable is only required if you want to program older logo generations. Current version of the Logo series 8. When Logo 0BA8, you only need an Ethernet cable.
Which logo they should buy depends on what you want to do with the logo.
There are 4 basic types, each with display and without display.

Edit: For programming you Need LOGO!Soft Comfort V8.

Hi the logo cable has logo plc written on it pls see the attached image, should i return it back (if it is useless---means i can not use it with my 0BA8 logo)

actually my problem is something different, I have purchased the logo cable from ebay, at that time i did'nt know anything about PLCs, my project guide told me "just buy a logo plc and its programming cable" and I bought the cable first becoz logo plc was not avail. at that day.

but when the cable came surfing net about its drivers i found that the new version logo8 does not require that cable, from the ashulogo8's post i came to know that even there is no port to connect the usb logo cable.

I met ashulogo8 in my VLSI lab. he is also worried about purchasing the cable, i picked up the cable image from his post and attached in my post as at the time of posting i was in hurry.

Now, I don't know what is he planning to do which his logo usb cable but i have two options,

option 1 : throw my USB logo cable in waste basket, as ebay is not ready to return it

option 2 : do not buy the newest version of logo (i.e., logo 8) but buy an old version of Logo plc which can be programmed by using my logo cable so that my investment in logo cable will not waste.

I can't throw it in waste as i bought it by my pocket money, I am therefore asking you please tell me which versions of logo plcs support my usb logo cable ------- i will buy only that logo plc which can be programmed by using my logo cable to make my logo usb cable in working and useful.

My work is only a switch on/ off some motors depending upon the logic / switches ---- not require advanced dataloging or webserver etc

I shot the images of my own usb logo cable and the images are attached here ----- pls see them and tell me which versions of logo plcs can be programmed by using this usb logo cable.

some venders are offering me logo 0ba2 the images are also attached

it was my mistake or say due to lack of awareness I should ask you before ordering the usb logo cable...... but what done can't be undone know.

i will show you any image of logo plc before ordering it to make sure this time i should not make a mistake.

pls help me I am worried about.

The pictures of the cables and of the logo are of old versions.
The picture of the logo shows a very old Logo 0BA2, which you only find in the museum. This is something I would not use in your place, even if I get them for free.
The cable you can use for logos to 0BA6.

Me only arises the question:

Why do you call only on the forum if you have already purchased the cable?
Why do not you ask before?

 Sir I know I made a mistake not asking before ordering the cable, but what can i do know, the cable cannot be returned back, and i just want to make my cable in use for this i must buy an old logo ------ happily or unhappily

 Hello,

 your cable is not SIEMENS original, 0BA6 is the maximum for you with this cable,

 you can try with a 0BA6 also because it will be hard to find a smaller version 0BA5,0BA4,0BA3,0BA2

actually i can get the older versions from some sellers but is it sure 0ba2 is programable with my cable
