AJ2 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I HAVE TO CONNECT 1XP8001-1/1024 PULSE ENCODER WITH FM 350-2 S7-300, THE ENCODER HAS 6 COLOR WIRES, I DONT KNOW WHICH COLOR WIRE WOULD BE USED FOR WHAT PURPOSE. MY TASK IS TO FIND THE FREQUENCY, RPM OF THE MOTOR VIA 1XP88001-1/1024 PULSE ENCODER WITH FM 350-2 S7-300 SETUP. KINDLY GUIDE

MHasan Posts: 63 Rating: (4)	If the motor is connected with variable frequency drive (VFD)THEN i will suggest you to read motor rpm from VFD instead of using encoder. There are two methods:- 1) if VFD supports profibus then you can read VFD para of rpm. 2) if VFD has feedback AI signal and you also have an analog input channel in your control system then you have to parameterize VFD accordingly
