Hello , 

I have a CPU315-2DP but i want to use a CP343-1 for communicate with other PLC's. But i also want to use a CP341 for serial communication with an other component. Is this possible to use more then 1 CP on the same CPU. I never tried this before and i want to know it sure before i buy this CP341.

Maybe this extract from the CPU 315-2DP Technical Data can reassure you: you can have up to 10 CPs Under one CPU, in the central rack or deported racks (over Profibus, for example).

If your CPU has a different order number and you want to check its particular technical data, simply write the order number in the Search box at the right of this page, select your CPU link in the Product links box, and open the Technical Data tab in the Product Support page of the CPU..

Thanks for reply, i have order the CP340.

Now only question i got more is when i want to make a communication with the CP340 i need P_Send? And also do i need to make a new communication in hardware configuration i have look at the type's of connection and i didn't find one for serial.

I want to send data serial (RS232C) to an other component.

pls keep in mind that CP340 isn't supported in TIA, I don't know if this is your situation. In simply basics you don't need create any connection in HW in this case, only configure CP with needed comm parameters as communication with other device require. Then use P_SEND and P_RECV blocks in your code..

Yes i use TIA portal, why is this a probleme ? I can insert the CP340 in my HW and i found in the P_Send in library. Why TIA do not support this ? Do i need to change my program to step 7 then ?

UPDATE:
The settings of the CP340 in hardware are:
Baudrate: 9600 bps
8databits
1 stopbits
none parity

I have the same settings in other component.

ok, probably my mistake, I was only give you recommendation about not full CP340 familly supported, so to be carefully what order number you need select. No problem. Use that P_SEND and P_RECV instructions for your sitaution, it will work without problems.

I have only no idea what i have to put in at LADDR. With AG_Send you see the LADDR in the connection but now i don't have a connection so what do i need to put here.

can you pls confirm that you need use that 3964 protocol? If you don't know, pls check this with your external device, in other case you can select ASCII protocol for standard use. LADDR parameter need to be filled with that CP I/O address start value in properties.

I don't know the difference between 3964(R) and ASCII but now you say it i think i need to use ASCII. Because i use the ASCII table for the code.

Also for the LADDR this i just the start adress of the input adress ?
In my previous post i have send a picture with my P_Send is this correct i want to send DB2 strated from 0.0. I know with AG_Send you can say P#DB2.DBX0.0 but i think with this one it is just 2 on DB and 0 on DBB.

yes, you need use start input address of CP. Your P_SEND looks correct in this case in my opinion. You only define DB block number and offset - DB2 0.0, with that ASCII leave all as it is with define send and recv condition after changing of protocol, it is defined with 4ms inter character timeout, this can be enough for correct work.
