3 Siemens HMI on same Profibus DP. Should all of them be 'only master on the bus'?!?

According to me, if PLC is acting as a master, then all your HMI will act as Profibus slave and Probus slave need to be addressed correctly in order to allow master to communiate with it. So please check profibus slave address settings with your Profibus Master application and also make sure that the HMI suppors auto baud functionaluity. Thanks and Regards Paresh

The only two cases the panel might be a slave are, 1- When you use DP direct keys. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/29339779 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/14668970 2- When you use HMI panel with S5 system. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/17053153 When you have multiple HMIs on the same bus then none of them is the only master (Class 2 Master)on the bus however I'm not quite sure of this and I hope someone can confirm or correct. I also recommend to look at this thread (regarding several HMIs on the same bus) and pay attention to the 2 replies of Fritz and J_Bell. Best regards. H-H
