315 -2 DP CPU as Slave of Another 315 - 2DP CPU using Profibus DP

Is it possiblble for another 315 - 2DP Cpu act as Slave of Another 315-2DP cpu in profibus DP..The master Cpu is connected to an HMI via MPI connection and which i want to control and monitor another Machine by using the Profibus DP of my master Cpu...Can anyone give me an idea for its hardware configuration... Thanks!

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear ivan_euler, I am not sure what you want to do therefore I will try to resume for a moment. You have two CPU 315-2 DP. You want to connect theses two CPUs with there DP Interfaces and you want both to exchange data in between, am I right so far? This should be no problem in my perspective, because the two DP Interfaces can work either in DP Master or DP Slave mode. Therefore you can handle the Communication between the two nodes, no question. The second thing is you want to have a HMI connected with the DP Master CPU via MPI and you want to have this HMI collecting data from both CPUs, am I right? This is a tough one, because you can, as far as I know, not route HMI or usual Data between CPUs. But maybe somebody else has more experience than I have. Best regards J_Bell

SADD Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hello I have routed with a 314C CPU to a Im151 CPU on DP so the HMI is on MPI connected to the 314C and the IM151 is on DP as a slave, then collect data from the IM CPU throught DP to MPI to HMIno problem, just must be set-up in Netpro. SADD

SADD Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Using Protool the connection was set to the Slave not the master, I had 3 connections in the Protool projectone to the master and 2 to the salves I had 2 slave doing motion contol 2 axis per slave then I also had IO mapped to the master slave for real time control.(the connection was set as routing). I was also able to downlaod the program from MPI to DP throught the Master. I've done the same with Flexible in Demo's I've donefor Siemens RSA SADD Attachment Routing.pdf (570 Downloads)

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Sadd, I have no doubt that it will work if you download with STEP 7 to all Systems over the MPI Interface of the CPU 314. What I doubt is collecting data from the connected DP Slaves... but maybe some of the HMI Guys have better ideas. Best regards J_Bell

Routing with WinCC is NOT So HMI on MPI and multiple CPU on sub network DP the HMI is able to retrive data from the CPU's on DP routing through a CPU on both MPI and DP. The connectionof the HMI is specified as Routing. SADD (TIA)
