315-2DP CPU communicates with HMI using profibus

Iam havin siemens 315-2DP CPU wit me, I think it communicates with HMI using profibus communication, so while I was surfing net I saw that there are profibus cables available for this communication. Please say whther my knowledge is correct on this regard. and I have got a doubt whether this HMI and PLC can communicate using ethernet, also whther cat-5 cables used for ethernet can be used for profibus communication also if required by using profibus plugs or jacks alone. ~REWA~

Yes, Profibus cable can be used as a communication medium between a Siemens HMI and a S7 PLC providing they both have a Profibus port. rewa and I have got a doubt whether this HMI and PLC can communicate using ethernet, It could providing the S7 CPU and HMI have an Ethernet port/CP. rewa also whther cat-5 cables used for ethernet can be used for profibus communication also if required by using profibus plugs or jacks alone. That one is a definite "No" I hope this helps
