Hello Alex, you can find all gsd-files here: GSD-files. Tomcat |

But remember: GSD files are used for PROFIBUS-DP slaves only, e.g. if you want to configure your CPU as a PROFIBUS-DP slave within another station. If you want to configure the CPU itself and you cannot find it in the hardeware catalog have a look in this FAQ: What do you do if you cannot find the component that you are looking for in the module catalog for the hardware configuration? |

Hi Alex, Normally it is no problem to use a newer firmware version because it is upwards compatible. If you have an older version ogf the firmware then it might be a problem when you try to use a new feature thats not in the firmware you are using. [:o] As of STEP7 V5.2 it is possible to update your hardware catalog and then all new equipment (that works with the STEP7 version you have) will be imported and installed. See the linkHow can you update the hardware catalog without direct Internet access?and the link Hardware Support Packages (HSPs)[:P] |
I hope that the answer will help, if you have still questions, don't hesitate to ask me. |

[quote user="alexfizeau"]I think it is not possible to create a program into a 315-2DP PLC with firmware v1.1, but in the hardware configuration catalog having the firmware version 1.2 ? Hi, You can do a firmware update to V1.2.1., so your CPU matches the version mentioned in STEP7. Other benefits are of course the bugfixes that have been taken place. You can get the firmware update via this link http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/7360491 |
