315F-2 PN/DP safe communication

Rush64 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi, can anyone explain how many connections you can use on a 315F-2 PN/DP, i would like to communicate with 2 cpu:s that menas that i set up2 connections and call F_Send/F_Recv twotimes each in the program. will this work and is the cpu on the limits with that configuration? I only send and receiveone interger inall directions. Regards Rush64

As it is mentioned you mayusestandard S7-Communication links touse the F-SENDS7 and F-RECVS7 functions. As far as I know are2 S7-Connectionsno problem on the CPU 315-2F PN/DP. I see no problem with this... please read carefully your distributed safety manual. Best regards J_Bell

Rush64 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Dear J_Bell, I've choked a 317F PN/DP CPU before, what i belive but no one has explained itto me, is that F_Send and F_Recv occupies 2BSend and BRecv's eachin the background, the 317 is capable of 32 s-connections but when you use them for safe communication they use more recources then s7 manager reports. With the 317 i was able to communicate with 4 cpu.s using F_Send and F_Recv, when i connected a fifth cpu i didn't communicate. The error was "out of recources". This is very confusing, i've been in contact with Siemens both in Sweden and Germany, they say that the cpu is on its limits but no one explains why and how to calculate. Best Regards Rush64
